H. Chapman, seconded by Trustee W. A. Greenleaf and Carried, all of the foregoing bids were referred to a committee of the whole. A co~uunication from F. T. Smith, local agent for the Santa Fe Railway Co., in reference to the City oil pit located on the Santa Fe Railway Company's property, stat- ing that same had not been used by the City for some time inquired if it would be agreeable for the railway to use this oit for waste oll from their pumping station and engines.--On motion of Trustee Chapman, duly seconded by Dale and carried, the matter was referred to the Street Committee and Superintendent Dahl, and report back. A request from John Norton, accompanied by permission from the property owners in the 300 block between Broadway and Ross, 1st and 2nd Streets, granting him permission to re- model his residence at 301 West 1st into a two story house, was read. On motion of Trustee Dale, duly seconde¢ by Greenleaf and carried, the request was granted, under the supervision of the Building Inspector.
