Packard, City Electrician, was authorized to <br />attend the Electrical Engineer~ s Convention to be held at <br />Oakland, California, March 24, 2§ and 26, 192~, expenses <br />to be paid by the City. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chapman, seconded by Collier and car- <br />ried, a committee, composed of President Purlnton and Tru-, <br />tee Goode, was appointed to mee$~-, with the Board of <br />Supervisors relative t~ m~ney in the sum of $10,000.00 <br />which the City is asking from the County of O~ange for th~ <br />paving and improvement of South Main Street. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by Chapman and car- <br />ried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare an ordi. <br />nance amending Section 1~ of the present License Ordinance <br />pertaining to auctions being held in the City. <br /> <br />A deed from the County of Orange, cwvering a portion of <br />Fruit Street, was presented. On motion of Trustee Ooode, <br />seconded by Collier and carried, the Clerk was instructed <br />to attach acceptance of the Board and have the same recor- <br />ded. <br /> <br />An easement for right of way was presented from A. R. <br />Marshall and others, covering the construction and mainte- <br />nance of a pipe line in the Bates Tract. On motion of <br />Trustee Goode, seconded by McPhee and carried, the Clerk <br />was instructed to attach acceptance of the Board and have <br />the same recorded. <br /> <br />Trustee McPhee and the City Engineer recommended to the <br /> <br />Board, the installation of twenty-six new center suspen- <br />sion lights of 100 candlepower each, in the Southeast <br /> <br />Lighting District. Messrs. W.O. Knox and J.H. Neall, pro- <br />perty owners in the district, appeared before the Board <br /> <br />requesting that the lamps be placed ih the center of block <br />where alleys prevail. On motion of Trustee McPhee, secon- <br />ded by Collier and carried, the recommendation of the City <br />Engineer was accepted and action was deferred for one week <br /> <br />This being the time and place set forth in Resolution of <br />Intention No. 1721 to order work done and improvement made <br />upon and along a portion of Oxford Street, and the Board <br />of Trustees being duly convened in open session, proweeded <br />to hear and pass upon all pr~tests presented. <br /> <br /> No owner or property liable to be assessed for said <br /> work made written protest or any protest against the <br /> <br /> <br />
