Goudey, Rea. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />AWamd <br /> <br />Cast Iron Pipe. <br /> <br />Boxes and to paint the word "Trash" on the lid of each; <br />also to demand payment of rent, which is now due the City <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by Chapman and car- <br />ried, the City Engineer was instructed to sell the Street <br />Department's Team of Horses, as per offer received in the <br />amount of $400.00. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goods, seconded by Chapman and car- <br />ried, the City Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids <br /> <br />to furnish the Street Department with Tractor according <br /> Engi neet' <br />to plans and' specifications on file in the City/Off,ce. <br /> <br />A communication from R. F. fioudey, Resident Engineer, of <br /> <br />the State Board of Health, was presented, with reference <br />to Assembly Bill No. 669 now before the LegiSlature, whi~ <br />will appropriate $80,000. fou experimental work on sewage <br />and waste disposal under the direction of the State Board <br />of Health. Mr. Ooudey urged the adoption of a 9esolution <br />that this bill, which is now ~de-tracked in the Ways and <br />Me~ns Committee, be reported out favorably for action. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chapman, seconded by Goods and Car- <br /> <br />r~ed, the City Attorney was instructed to co~unicate <br /> <br />with our representative to the State Legislature urging <br /> <br />the passage of Assembly Bill No. 639; and on call of roll <br /> <br />the following resolution was passed: <br /> <br /> "%~ereas, the State Legislature is now considering <br />Assembly Bill No. 659, which will appropriate approximate. <br />ly ~60,000. for two years~ experimentation on sewage dis- <br />pose] and industrial w~stes in the State of C~lifornia; <br />sad ~' <br /> ',%T~ereas, the City of Santa Aha has problems regard- <br />ing pre-,testament of cannery wastes and prospective <br />industries likely to locate within the city limits; and <br />Wheress, the adoption of th~s bill will permit of <br />such studies as will affect the interests of the City of <br /> <br />Sant~ Aha, <br /> Now Therefore, Be <br />~ndorse and ~!i~ove of <br />~ie~u~s Committee of the <br />this bill." <br /> <br />It Hesolved, that the City Council <br />this bill and request the Ways and <br />Assembly ~o report in favor of <br /> <br />Holl Call: Ayes, Trustees C.~. Purinton. <br /> Noes, Trustees None. <br /> Absent, Trustees None. <br /> <br />Bids for furnishing the City of Santa Aha with Cast Iron <br />Pipe having b~en taken under advisement until this date, <br />and the Water Superintendent having carefully checked <br />said bids, on motion of Trustee Chapman, seconded by <br />Collier and carried, contract for furnishing the City of <br />Santa Ana with cast iron pipe was awarded to the National <br />Cast Iron Pipe Company for the amount of $9,159.60; end <br />Clerk was instructed to return checks and bonds to all <br />unsuccessful bidders. <br /> <br /> <br />
