No. 198Y <br /> <br />0rd&ring Work <br /> <br />Halladay Street <br /> <br />bet. 1st & McFadden. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, <br />tied, the easement frc~ the <br /> <br />seconded by C~haney and car- <br />Pacific Electric Railway <br /> <br />Company, granting a permit to construct and maintain a <br />highway upon and across Harwood, Bishop and Grant Street <br />crossings, was accepted and the Mayor and Clerk were <br />authorized to sign eaxement and have same recorded. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelly, seconded by Chaney and car- <br />ried, the Clerk was instructed to draw warrant in amount <br />of $~5.00 from the Advertising Fund in favor of Mrs. <br />Eunice Fox, President of the Native Daughters as a con- <br />tribution towards expenses for Native Daughters Day at <br />the Pacific Southwest Expostton at Long Beach. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by Chaney and car- <br />ried, the City Council abandoned and declared null and <br />void Resolution AdoPting Plans and Specifications No. <br />1963 and Resolution of Inte~tion No. 1977 and all pro- <br />ceedings had thereunder, for the improven~nt of Ross <br /> <br /> Street between Washington and Seventeenth. <br /> .Ayes, <br /> Roll Call./Trustees. J.L~ McBride, W.J. Kelly, Homer C. <br /> Chaney, Stanley E. Goode, F.L. Pttrinton. <br /> Noes, Trustees, None. <br /> <br /> Absent, Trustees, None. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chaney, seconded by McBride and <br /> carried, the City Engineer was instructed to prepare <br /> plans and specifications for the paving of Ross Street <br /> between Washington and Seventeenth with asphaltlc~pave- <br /> ment, according to petition presented by the majority <br /> of property owners. <br /> <br /> This being the time and place set forth in Resolution <br /> of Intention No. 1976 to order the work done and improv~ <br /> ment made upon and along Halladay Street between First <br /> and McFadden, and the City Council being duly convened <br /> in open session, proceeded to hear and pass upon all <br /> protests presented. No owner of property liable to be <br /> assessed for said work made written protest or any pro- <br /> test against the proposed work or against the extent of <br /> the district to be assessed therefor and no person ap- <br /> pearing to protest or object or show any cause why the <br /> improvement should not be carried out in accordance <br /> with Resolution of Intention No. 1976, the City Council <br /> deemed that it had acquired Jurisdiction to order the <br /> proposed improve~ent~ A resolution was introduced <br /> ordering the wot k to be done and improvement made as <br /> briefly set out in Resolution of Intention No. 1976, <br /> <br /> <br />
