No. 1917 <br /> <br />Weeds--Public Nuisance. <br /> <br />This being the time and place when and where interested <br />persons might appear and show cause why bonds should not <br />be issued upon the security of the unpaid assessments <br />for work done and improvement made upon portions of Cus- <br />ter, Logan and Stafford Streets, in accordance with <br />Resolution of Intention No. 1787, and the City Council <br />being now in session, proceeded to hear all p~otests <br />presented. <br /> <br /> No person appearing to protest or show any cause why <br />bonds should not be issued, a resolution was introduced <br />determining the unpaid ass6ssments for work and improve- <br />ment made upon said streets, the aggregate thereof, <br />directing bonds to be issued for the security of the <br />unpaid assessments, prescribing the denominations of <br />said bonds and providing for the issuance of same in <br />annual serles. <br /> <br /> The resolution was ordered filed, read, considered and <br />designated Resolution No. 1916 and passed by the follow- <br />lng vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees J.L.McBride, W.G.Knox, Stanley E.Goode~ <br /> Noes, Trustees None. <br /> <br />Absent, Trustees W.J. Kelly, F.L. Purinton. <br /> <br />Trustee McBride introduced a resolution entitled as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> A resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Aha determining and declaring that weeds which bear seed~ <br />of a wingy or downy nature and attain such a large growth <br />as to become a fire menace when dry, and which are nox- <br />ious and dangerous, are growing 'upon certain streets, <br />sidewalks and private property in said city of Santa Aha <br />and are a public nuisance; directing the Street Superin- <br />tendent to post notices to destroy said weeds as required <br />by law; fixing the time for hearing objections and pro- <br />tests, and directing the abatement thereof in accordance <br />with an Act of t.he Legislature of the Sate of California <br />entitled, "An Act authorizing municipalities to declare <br />noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the streets or <br />sidewalks or upon private property within municipalities <br />to be a public nuisance, creating a lien upon the proper- <br />ty fronting upon such streets or sidewalks, or upon which <br />such nuisance exists for the cost of abating the same, <br />approved May 26, 1915", and amendments there£o. <br /> <br /> The resolution was ordered filed, read, considered, <br />designated Resolation No. 1917 and passed by the follow- <br />ing rot e: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees J.L.McBride, W.G.Enox, Stanley E.Goode, <br /> Noes, Trustees None. <br /> <br />Absent, Trustees W.J.
