No. 2162 <br /> <br />Ordering Improvement <br /> <br />Abandonment of Brown St. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chaney, seconded by Kelly and car- <br />ried, a committee was appointed to investigate the appli- <br />cation of the Realty Board for financial assistance in <br />the amount of $260.00 to give a Farm Land Exhibition in <br />Los Angeles, March 8th to 23rd, 1930. Trustees Goode <br />and Chaney appointed as such committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chaney, seconded by McBride and car- <br />ried, the City Engineer was instructed to prepare plans <br />and specifications for the installation of curbs and <br />sidewalks on Fairlawn between Fifth and Eighth Streets <br />and the South side of Eighth Street between Fairlawn and <br /> <br />Artesia Streets. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelly, <br /> <br />seconded by McBride and car- <br /> <br />tied, the City Engineer was given the power to enter iht( <br />an agreement with such persons, most advantageous to the <br />City, for the selvaging of city dump subject to t~rmina- <br />~tion at will of the City Council. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Kelly and car- <br />ried, the Clerk was instructed to draw warrant in amount <br />of $100.uO in favor of Chas. D. Swanner, City Attorney, <br />covering incidental expenses on E. First Street Widening. <br /> <br />This being the time and place set fc~th in Resolution of <br />Intention No. 2157 that the public interest and conven- <br />ience requires the work hereinafter described, and the <br />City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby orders the <br />following work to be done and improvement made in the <br />City of Santa Ana as follows: <br /> <br /> That the following portion of Brown Street as herein- <br />after described in the City of Santa Ana be closed up <br />and abandoned, to-wit: <br /> All that portion of Brown Street extending from the <br />Easterly line of Santa Ana East as per map thereof on <br />file in Book lC, Pages 43 and 44, Miscellaneous Records <br />of Los Angeles County, California, Westerly between <br />Blocks 25 and 26, 31 and 32, 39 and 40 of said Santa Ana <br />East to the Easterly line of that portion of Brown Street <br />previously abandoned as recorded in Deed BooS 554, Page <br />376, Official Records of Orange County, California. <br /> <br />No person appearing to protest or object to the work as <br />set forth in Resolution of Intention No. 2157, and no <br />written protests having been filed, a resolution was <br />introduced ordering the improvement. The remolution was <br />ordered filed, read, considered, designated Resolution <br />Ordering Improvement No. 2162 and passed by the follow- <br />ing vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, <br /> <br /> Noes, <br /> <br />Absent, <br /> <br />Trustees J. L. McBride, W. J. Kelly, Homer C. <br /> Chaney, F. L. Purinton. <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />Trustees Stanley E. Goode. <br /> <br /> <br />
