No. 2181 <br /> <br />Ordering Wc~k <br /> <br />Fairlawn & Eighth Sts. <br /> <br />It ~s Ordered; That the Clerk ~fsaid City Council ad?er- <br /> <br />tise the sale of said bonds by two insertions in the <br /> <br />Santa Aha Daily Evening Register, calling for bids there- <br /> <br />for, and fixing the time for the receipt of bids as April <br /> <br />21st, 1930, at 7:30 otclock P.M., at the Council Chamber <br /> <br />of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Said motion was' regularly passed and adopted by the <br /> <br />following stated vote, to-wit: <br /> <br />Ayes, Trustees: W.J. Kelly, J.L. McBride, B.O. Sutton <br /> Stanley E. Goode, F.L. Purinton. <br /> <br />Noes, Trustees: None. Absent, Trustees:None. <br /> <br />This being the time and place set for the opening of bid <br /> <br />Cast Iron Water Pipe and the City Council being in open <br /> <br />session proceeded to open b~ds received as follows: <br /> <br />American Cast Iron Pipe Co. <br />National Cast Iron Pipe Co. <br />Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Co. <br />U.S. Pipe & Foundry Co. <br /> <br />Item 1 <br />$6075.00 <br />6150.00 <br />6000.00 <br />5955.00 <br /> <br />Item 3 Item 4 Item § <br />$3735.oo $33oc.oo $76o5.5o <br />3690.00~ 3300.00 75?9.00 <br /> <br /> 3667.50 3282.00 ?5?9.00 <br /> <br /> Item 2 <br />$6490.00 <br /> 6490.00 <br /> <br /> 6369.00 <br /> <br />On motion o.f Trustee McBride, seconded by Sutton and car- <br /> <br />tied, the bids were referred to the Water Superintendent <br /> <br />for checking to report back in one week. <br /> <br />A resolution was introduced entitled as follows: <br /> <br /> "A Hesolution of the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Aha detex-mining and declaring that weeds which bear <br />seeds of a wingy or downy nature and attain such a large <br />g~owth as to become a fire menace when dry, and which <br />are noxious and dangerous, are growing upon certain stree <br />sidewalks and private property in said City of Santa Aha <br />and are a public nuisance; directing the Street Superin- <br />tendent to post notices to destroy said weeds as required <br />by law; fixing the time for hearing objections and pro- <br />tests, and directing the abatement thereof in accordance <br />with an Act of the Legislature of the State of California <br />entitled "An Act authorizing Municipalities to declare <br />noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the streets or <br />sidewalks or upon private property within municipalities <br />to be public nuisance, creating a lien upon the property <br />fronting upon such streets or sidewalks, or upon which <br />such nuisance exists for the COst of abating the same, <br />approved May E6, 1915", and amendments thereto." <br /> <br />The resolution was c~dered filed, read, considered, <br /> <br />designated Resolution No. 2179 and passed by the follow- <br /> <br />ing vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees J.L. McBride· W.J. Kelly· B.O. Sutton, <br /> Stanley E. Goode, F.L. Purinton. <br /> <br />T~ustees None. <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br /> Noes, <br /> <br />Absent, <br /> <br />This being the time and place ~e~f~rth in Resolution of <br />X~ntion No. 217V, to order the work and improvemamt <br />made upon and along a portion of Fairlawn Street and <br />Eighth Street· and the City Council being duly convened <br />in open session· proceeded to hear and pass upon all <br />protests presented. <br /> <br /> <br />
