McDonald and the Gilmore <br /> <br />Oil Company against the overflowing of ditch near the <br />Santa Ana Boulevard~ring the rainy season, which allows <br />the water to stand on their properties and causing dam- <br />ages, ware accepted and filed for future reference. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Goode and car- <br /> <br />ried, the hearing on a partial separation of grades on <br />East Fourth Street as proposed in Resolution of In <br /> <br />No. 2260, was continued to January 19th, 1931 at V:30 <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by McBride and car- <br /> <br />ried, the deeds from John William Sackman and Gertrude E. <br /> purchased by the <br />Sackman, husband and wife, covering property/located <br /> <br />of the Olive Street Baseball Bowl facing Eighth Street <br />between Olive Street and Flower Street, were accepted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by McBride and car~ <br />tied, the application of R. L. McCue for permission to <br />erect a duplex on Lots 12 and 13 Tract 532 located on <br />Grant Street, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by Sutton and car- <br />ried, the Clerk was instructed to notify organizations <br />such as the Sciot's Lodge, American Legion, Peace Offi- <br />cers Association and Veterans of Foreign Wars that the <br />Council will not permit shows or circuses under their <br />auspices without a city license. <br /> <br />This being the time and place fixed for the opening of <br />bids or proposals for the work ordered done and improve- <br />ment made upon portions of Washington Avenue and Baker <br />Street, according to Resolution of Intention No. 2262, <br />and the City Council being duly convened in open session <br />proceeded to and did publicly open, examine and declare <br /> <br />all bids received as follows: <br /> <br /> Item 1 Item,2 Total <br />C.B. Following the report, <br />the City Council awarded the contract to C.E. Masten~ as <br />the lowest responsible bidder therefor. A resolution <br />was introduced awarding the contract to C.E. Masten. <br /> <br />The ~lerk was intructed to return checks of unsuccessful <br />bidders. The resolution was ordered filed, read, con- <br />sidered, designated Resolution No. 2272 and passed by the <br /> <br /> <br />
