Penn. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees A.C. HasenJaeger, Paul B. Mitchell <br /> <br />Leave of Absence. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Petition & Protest <br /> <br />Sunday Baseball at Bowl. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by McBride and car- <br />ried, the application of Alex Valles for permission to <br />conduct a Pool Hall on Central Avenue, Gloryetta, former. <br />ly operated by Ramon Porras, was referred to the Chief <br />of Police and Police Commissioner for investigation. <br /> <br />A communication was read from B. O. Baird, 316 W. Santa <br />Clara Avenue, requesting the installation of an elimina- <br />tor by the City on the safety blinker located at the <br />corner of Main and Santa Ana Boulevard, which causes <br />steady interference in his radio reception. On motion <br />of Trustee McBride, seconded by Penn and carried, the <br />request of- B. O. Baird was referred to the Street Super- <br />intendent with instructions to eliminate the blinker <br />and using the red light only. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by McBride and car- <br />ried, the request of Judge J. G. Mitchell for permission <br />to leave the State for a period of thirty days starting <br />December 10th, was granted. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />A communication from Carl Ruecker, Manager of the Santa <br />Aha Merchants Ball Club,was presented requesting favor- <br />able action on the petition of the merchants of Santa <br /> <br />Ana to use the Municipal Bowl for playing baseball on <br /> ,fifty-four <br />Sunday afternoons. Protests of/residents in the <br /> <br />of the MUnicipal Bowl and eleven hundred and eighty-two <br />church people were presented against allowing the Bowl <br />to be used on Sundays for playing baseball. On motion <br />of Trustee McBride, secc~ied by Penn and carried, the <br />communication of Carl Rueeker and the protests of resi- <br />dents and church people were taken under advisement for <br /> <br />one week o <br /> <br /> <br />
