On motion of Trustee <br />Warner, seconded by Penn and carried, both <br />petition and protest were taken under advisement. <br /> <br />The application of H. Quintana for permit to con- <br />duct po~l hall at 903 East Fourth Street was re- <br />ported upon unfavorably by the Chief of Police <br />and Police Commissioner and on motion of Trustee <br />Penn, seconded by Warner and carried, the <br />application was denied. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br /> H. H. Possey appeared before the Bce rd requestin <br /> permission to hang a banner across the street at <br /> Birch and Fairview calling attention to <br /> religious services. After explanation that the <br /> Council was opposed to granting such permits, <br /> the application was withdrawn and no action take~ <br /> <br /> A committee appeared before the Council in regard <br /> to canning of tomatoes at the unemployment head- <br /> quarters, also with suggestions as to part time <br /> employment in the Street and Park Departments of <br /> the City.
