Taxpayers' Assn. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and carried <br />the application of the Santa Aha Merchants Ball Club for <br />permission to use the Bowl for baseball games on Sunday <br />afternoons, was denied. <br /> <br />On motion cf Trustee Penn, seconded by HasenJaeger and <br />carried, the offer of Ted Collins, Director of the Ameri- <br />can Legion Band, to have the Band play in Birch Park <br />Christmas morning at 10 A.M., without cost to the City, <br />was accepted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, s~onded by Penn and <br />carried, the application of Joseph G. Rose for permission <br />to operate a pool hall at A06 E. Ath Street, was referred <br />to the Police Department for investigation. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried <br />the application of Gilbert-Weston-Stearns Inc. to hang <br />an electric sign for Clark's Dollar Store at 103 W. <br />Street and the application of Robertson Electric Corpora- <br />tion to hang an electric sign for Roy McIntosh of the <br />Empire Market at 202 N. Broadway, were granted under <br />supervision of the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A Resolution was presented from the California Taxpayers' <br />Association requesting postponement for a reasonable time <br />of the Colorado River Aqueduct, the grounds for oppositim <br />on the part of the organization ~eing disbelief in the <br />economic soundness of the project as proposed by the <br />Metropolitan Water District. On motion of Trustee <br />HasenJaeger, seconded by Penn and carried, the Council <br />decided to go on record opposing the Resolution adopted <br />by the Los Angeles Division of the California Taxpayers~ <br />Association for the postponement of the Colorado River <br /> <br />Aqueduct. <br /> <br /> <br />
