Kumpe for 0ement Sidewalk and Curbing was referred to the Chair for approval or dis- approval. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by McBride and tied, the application of Staton Bros. for permission to erect a service station at the northwest corner of First and Spu~geon Streets, was referred to the Planning Oom~is sion for recommendation. On motion of Trustee McBride aaoonded by Warner and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was accepted and the property at the northwest corner of First and Spurgeon was ordered posted ~or special uses and the hearing date set January 18th, 1952, ?:50 P.M. On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger', seconded by McBride carried, the communications of the Linons Club, Exchange Club, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, Orange County Bricklayers, Holy Name Society, St. Joseph' Parish and the Orange County Building Trades Council for starting commending the Council/on the ~w~ediate construction of the propose~ auditorium and stadium at the Olive Bowl, were accepted a~ filed. On mo~ion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by McBride ca~ried, the application of Robertson Electric for permission to hang an electric sign for the Fourth Street Market at ~0~ E. Fourth Street was granted under supervisionof the Electrical Inspector. On mo~ on of Trustee Witmer, seconded by Warner and car- tied, the co,~unication of C. H. Eckles giving notice of the complete withdrawal of the ~anta Aha Bas Service en February llth, 1952, was accepted and filed. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by HasenJaeger carried, the resolutions of the IntarnationalPrinting Pressman Union No. 1~, Carpenters Loca~ Union 6S8, Brotherhood of Painters, Decorators and Paperhangers of America, Musicians Mutual Protective Assn., Internationa~ Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Barbers LooaX Union, ~anta Ana Typographical Union and Motion Picture Machine~ Operator's Union condemning the City Council for its attempt to reduce the wage scale for common laborers on city work to $2.80 por day, were accepte~ and filed.
