E. 01son, Councilman of the <br />City of Glendale calling attention to the Fifth Annual <br />Institute of Government to be held at the University of <br />Southern California June 13th to 17th~1~clusive, was <br />accepted and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and car- <br />ried, the communication of the Griffith Company relative <br />to contract with Kovacevich and Price on the improvement <br />on West Seventeenth Street, statiug that all workmen <br />employed on the Job were paid wages at the rates specific( <br />and that they did not knowingly employ non-citizens, was <br />referred to the City Engineer. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Warner and car- <br />ried, the application of C. H. Eckles for permission to <br />establish parking space for one or two taxis at the south. <br />eas~ cor~er of ~ourth and Broadway, was referred to the <br />City Engineer and Trustee HasenJaeger for investigation. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by McBride and <br />carried, the application of Henry I. Beisser for permis- <br />sion to sell fireworks at his store, 427 W. Fourth Street <br />was granted subject to inspection by the Fire Chief. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />O~x motion of Trustee Hasenjaeger, seconded by Warner and <br />carried, the bond of Paul F. Seiersen doing business as <br />Seiersen Supply Company for Plumbing and Gas Fitting was <br />referred to the Chair for approval or disapproval. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />A ,petition was presented signed by Independent Grocers <br />protesting against Section 94 of License Ordinance as <br />being unjust and discriminating against Independent Mer- <br />chants. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded 'by Warner <br />and carried~ the matter with reference to licensing truck~ <br />owned by chain stores delivering merchandise to their ow~ <br />stores in Santa Aha, was referred to the City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
