Taxpayers' Assn. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and ca~- <br />tied, ~he Chair was authorized to appoint a comnnittee to <br />investigate the application of Jay Brooks for permission <br /> <br />to plant a gum t~ee windbreak 250 feet long to protect <br /> ~dJoining <br />his g~owe /~ city property on West First Street. Trustees <br /> <br />LeGaye, Warner and the City ~ineer were appointed as <br />the co~mittee. <br /> <br />On m~tion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and ca~ried, <br />a plat was filed showing the street, the proposed set-back <br />line and the distance thereof from the regularly estab- <br />lished property line on North Ross Street between First <br />and Fifth Street for the proposed establialmaent of a five <br />foot set back line on said street. The property was <br />ordered posted and the hearing date for protests was set <br />as of ~uly 3~d~ 1933. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />O~motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by La,aye and car- <br />ried, the Mayor and Clerk were instructed to sign a lease <br />with the ~anta Ana Night Baseball Association for a period <br />of one year, April 15th, 1533, to April 16th, 1034, at a <br />rental of ten per cent of the gross returns from the 1933 <br />night baseball ~ames to be held in the Municipal Bowl. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Wa~ner and carried <br />the Mayor and Clerk were instructed to sigm an aseeement <br />with ~ohnA. Wilcox, representing the Fiesta Del <br />Cow,,ittee, for the three days of the Fiesta, July 2?th, <br />28th and 29th, at a rental of twenty pe~ cent of the <br />gross returns from the five performances to be given in <br />the Municipal Bowl. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and carried <br />the following resolution was adopted: <br /> <br /> "Whereas, the Mayor and the Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana has hea~, with deep regret, of the passing of <br />James W. Murray, for more than a third of a century a <br />member of the City Police Department, and <br /> Whereas, the Mayor and the City Council desire to pay <br />tribute to his faithful service and to extend to his <br />widow and daughter thei~ profound sympathy; <br /> Therefore, Be It Resolved, Uaat the City Clerk of the <br />City of Santa A~a be directed to send a copy of this <br />resolution to Mrs. James W.
