Santa Aha City Hall. <br />February 5th, 1934. <br /> <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Witmer. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees E.G. Warner, W. H. Penn, <br /> AeC. HasenJaeger, Paul B. Witmer. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trmtees A.F. LeGaye. <br /> <br /> Minutes of meetings of January 22nd and <br /> 29th were approved as read. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Anti-Picketing Ordinance <br /> <br />Orange County Farm Bureau. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Petition Against <br /> <br />Junk Stored on Valencia St. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Petition of <br /> <br />Police & Fireman. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Monthly Reports. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Mont~hly Warrants. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication of <br /> <br />Sou. Cai.League of Ml,n~cipalities. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Penn and <br />carried, the c~munication from the Orange County Farm <br />Bureau,with copy of Ordinance adopted by the County of <br />Ox~ange attached, relative to the adoption of a similar <br />ordinance by the City against picketing and loitering, <br />during labor troubles, on the streets as a means of pro- <br />tection to the packing house and merchandising organiza- <br />tions, was referred to the City Attorney. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by property o~ners in the <br />vicinity of ~alencia and Virginia Streets ag$/nst the <br />storage of Junk by Willard Lake on lot at Valencia and <br />Virginia Streets. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded <br />by Pe~n and carried, the petition of property owners was <br />referred to the Planning Commission for investigation. <br /> <br />A petition signed by Policemen and Firemen of, ~anta Aha <br /> to <br />was read requesting permission/circulate a petition among <br /> <br />citizens of Santa Ana for the adoption of and Ordinance <br />by the Council or by an election to create a Civil Ser- <br />vice Board and placing members of the Police and Fire <br />Department under Civil Service. On motion of Trustee <br />HasenJaeger, seconded by Penn and carried, the petition <br />was referred to the Finance Committee for investigation. <br /> <br />On motion of Tr~astee P~-~, seconded by HasenJaeger and <br /> <br />carried, the monthly reports for January of the City <br />Officers, were referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and carried <br />the Clerk was instructed to issue warrants according to <br />demands audited by the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried <br />the communication of the Southern California League of <br />Municipalities inviting the City Council to attend their <br />meeting at Santa Monioa, February 24th at 1:00 P.M., and <br /> <br /> <br />
