No. E381 <br /> <br />Expressing Appreciation <br /> <br />to Special Advisory Committee <br />of R.F.C. for Relief during <br />the Earthquake. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and carrie. <br />the request ~ the ValenCia Polo Association to be relea~ <br />from their contract to hold polo games in t~e Municipal <br />Bowl, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of 'Trustee Le~ye, seconded by Warner and car- <br />ried, the application of the Gilmore Oil Company for per- <br />mission to cut the curb for a thirty-five foot driveway <br />on First Street, Was referred to the Street Commissioner <br />and Street Superintendent for investigation. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and carried <br />the Olerk was instructed to advertise for bids for one <br />police car at a price not to exceed $800.00 in addition <br />to all~ance one 19B6 Buick Touring car. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by LeGaye and car- <br />ri?d, the Purchasing Agent was authorized to purchase <br />three radios to equip the motorcycles and one radio for <br />the new automobile to be purchased for tl~ Police Depart- <br />ment · <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee LeGaye, seconded by Warner and car- <br />ried, the cormnunication of the City Planning Co~mission <br />recommending.the need of a special ordinance or ~egulatio~ <br />providing for the posting of lots to clear same of weeds, <br />was taken under advisement for one week. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee W~rner, seconded by Penn and carried <br />the application of the Independent Ice Company for per- <br />mission to cut curbs for thirty-five foot driveways on <br />Fifteenth Street and O~ Main Street, was referred to the <br />Street Commissioner and Street Superintesdent. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by LeGaye and <br />carried, the following Resolution No. 2581 was adopted: <br /> <br /> "That, Whereas, on March t~nth, 1955, the City of Santa <br />Aha was in the pathway of a severe earthquake disturbance <br />with great destruction of property and confusion result- <br />ins therefrom, and <br /> The situation immediately following the earthquake <br />demanded men of experience and ability to supervise the <br />distribution of funds made available for reconstruction <br />work, therefore, a Special Advisory Committee of the <br />Unified Rehabilitation Corporation was appointed by the <br />President of the United States; and <br /> Under the guidance of this Special Advisory Committee <br />regulating the distribution of the available funds, all <br />buildings affected by said earthquake within the City of <br />Santa Aha have now been reconstructed and rehabilitated <br />and a great impro~ ement in the appearance of the business <br />district of the City of Santa Aha has been made possible <br />thereby, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Special Advisory Committee in charge of <br />the distribution of earthquake relief funds is now in <br /> <br /> <br />
