Santa Ana City Hall. June 18th, 193~. V:30 P.M. ~City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Clerk. Present: Trustees A. F. LeGaye, E. G. Warner, W. H. Penn, Plummet W. B~uns. Absent: Trustees None. The motion of Trustee LeGaye to appoint Trustee Warner as Mayor Pro-Tem was lost for lack of a second to the motion. 0n motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and carried, Trustee Bruns was appointed Mayor Pro T~m. · Minutes of meetings of June Ath and llth were approved as read. In Re Communication Mayor Frank L. Shaw. In Re Communication Hiram N. Johnson. In Re Communication Vermond Knauss. In Re Communicztion--Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce. In Re Application of H. C. Hood. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by Penn and carried, the comunication of Mayor Frank L. Shaw acknowledging communication of Paul B. Witmer relative to Los Angeles Motorcycle Police acting as escorts to the Mid-Summer Motor Pageant to be held June 27th, was received a nd filed On motio~ Of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried, the communication from Robert E. Girvin, Publicity Direc- tor of the Headquarter of Hiram W. Johnson for United States Senator Clubs, acknowledging communication from Paul B. Witmer relative to Senator Johnson's aid in secur- ing Federal assiS~ance for California PUblic Work Projects was received and filed. On motion of Trustee LeGaye, seconded by Warner and car- ried, the communication of Vermond Knauss,offering to donate a $25,000.00 three-manual Wurlitzer to the ~lty with a suitable municipal auditorium if the City engages Mr. Knauss as organist with a reasonabl.e salary, was referred to Har~y L. Hanson, Manager of the Santa Aha Municipal Band. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carrie d the communication from the ChamBer of Commerce of Hunting. ton Beach requesting the Council to allow the Santa Aha ~Municipal Band to participate in the Fiesta De La Plata celebration July 4th at Huntington Beach, was referred t o Harry L. Hansco, Manager of the Band. ,, On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried the application of H. C. Hood for permission to erect a service station at 1002 S. Main Street, was referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation.
