On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, Trustee Rowland was appointed as a committee of one to investigate the statements made by Trus tee LeGaye with reference to the mileage on the city car operated by Chief of Police Howard. On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Penn and car- ried, the following projects for work under the S.E.R.A. as submitted by the City Engineer were approved and the Mayor was authorized to sign same for presentation to the S.E.R.A.: 0-34X Repair sidewalks and build curb returns. " Reconstruction of band stand and rest rooms at Bit ch Park. O-3VX City Parks. -- Drainage Project. -- Sewer Project. 0-144 Fire Alarm Sytem on N. Main St., E. Santa Clara and W. Washington Ave. 0-34X Build retaining wall along ramp at Bowl. O-41X Build shed at City Yard. -- City Planning. -- Painting exterior of Library. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the recommendation of the Fire Chief was concurred with and Sam Fink and Frank Corey were appointed Firemen of the City of Santa Ana. Trustee LeGaye not voting~ On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded bi B~uns and carried, the Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the sale of the house located at the northwest corner of Sixth and Olive Streets. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the City Engineer was authorized to employ one man to assist in obtaining the right-of-way in connection with the improvement of South Main Street, said employee to be paid out of the State Gasoline Tax funds. An Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance amending Zoning Ordinance No. 809 to change th~ Zone on Lots 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 15, Block "E", Hawkins Addition, Lots 8 and 9, Block "D", Hawkins Addition, and a triangular piece of property at the Northeast corner of Fruit and Santiago Streets, from a Two-Family and Apartment House Zone to Light Industrial Zone!' was finally read, considered, designated Ordinance No. gg8 ~ud passed by the following vote: Ayes, Noes, Absent, Trustees A. F. LeGaye, Fred C. Rowland, W. H. Penn, Plummet B. Bruns, E. G. Warner. Trustees None. Trustees No~e.
