In Re Reso. No. 2396 Canvass Election Returns and Declaring Result of Election Repeal of Ordinance No. 794. In Re Reso. No. 2397 Canvass Election Returns & Declaring Result Election Bonds in This being the first Monday after the holding of the spec- ial election,' August 20th, 1934, Wherein the Cit~ of Santa Ana submitted to the qualified electors of said City the initiative proposition of repealing Ordinance No. 794, e~titled: "An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ana, California, providing for the levy and collection of a tax not exceeding twelve cents on each One Hundred Dollars, for the purpose of Music and Advertising purposes" and the City Council being in regular session, proceeded to canvass the votes as follows: PRECINCT NUMBER OF VOTES CAST YES NO 1 150 50 2 103 30 3 88 56 4 100 40 5 105 44 6 134 56 7 106 32 8 102 37 9 129 46 10 102 75 11 125 79 12 153 69 13 130 33 14 112 51 15 82 13 16 105 27 17 133 55 18 76 57 19 98 23 20 120 49 21 101 55 22 124 37 23 64 55 24 99 63 25 108 41 26 101 38 27 86 33 28 104 29 29 118 25 30 114 64 31 77 93 32 111 49 33 183 49 34 96 40 Total 3739 1598 And it sppesring that 3739 votes were cast in favor of the proposition for the repealing of Ordinance No. 794 and 1593 votes were cast against said propo~ition and there being a majority of all of said votes cast in favor of repgaling Ordinance No. 794 and the City Council of the City of Santa Ana finds and declares that said proposition for ~he repeal was carried by the necessary majority. A resolution was introduced declaring the result of the election, considered, designated Resolution No. 2396 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees A.F. LeGaye, Fred C. Rowland, W. H. Penn, Plummet W. Bruns, E.G. Warner. Noes, Trustees None. Absent, Trustees None.
