Girl Scouts. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />U~lted Cooperative <br /> <br />Exchange #1. <br /> <br /> State Division of Highways, dated December 22nd, 1934, <br /> requesting the City of Santa Ana to take immediate steps to <br /> secure the right-of-way on Grand Avenue between Seventeenth <br /> Street and Santa Clara Avenue, was referred back to the Stat <br /> Division of Highways with the request that they secure the <br /> necessery right-of-way within the City of Santa Ana, the <br /> same to be paid for from the one-fourth-cent gasoline tax <br /> revenue accruing to the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> Roll Call: Ayes, Trustees O.A. Haley, Fred C. Rowland, <br /> W.H. Peun, Plummet W. Bruns, E.G. Warner. <br /> <br /> Noes, Trustees None. <br /> <br /> Absent, Trustees None. <br /> <br />Om motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, <br />the communication of the Planning Commission was received <br />and heartily approved,recommending and setting forth propose. <br />projects for Work under the new public works program planned <br />by President Roosevelt, as follows: <br /> <br /> Installation of a storm drain system. <br /> The continued development of flood control and park <br />work in Santiago Creek. <br />Widening of South Main Street from First Street to <br />Delhi Road, and possible widening of Flower Street and other <br /> Replacement of two-inch water main with four or six <br /> inch lines as required. <br /> Adequate recreation grounds program to be worked out in <br /> conjunction with the Board of Education. <br /> Pedestrian underpasses on heavy traffic arteries. <br /> Completion of street tree planting program. <br /> Continued study of a city plan for park areas to be <br />linked with the Federal housing plan. <br /> Bandstand and rest rooms for Birch Park. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, <br />a committee composed of the City Engineer, Secretary of the <br />Planning Commission, Street Commissioner and City Auditor <br />were appointed With power to act, to draft proposed projects <br />for work under the new public works program planned by <br />President Roosevelt, And the Mayor authorized to sign the <br />projects in accordance with the recommendations of the Plan- <br />ning Commission. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the application of Mrs. A. W. Rutan, Chairman of the Girl <br />Scout Committee for permission to use the Bower's Museum as <br />a meeting place for Girl Scout Troops in Santa Ana, was <br />granted and referred to the City Auditor as to the time of <br />the meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bru~, seconded by Rowland and carried, <br /> <br />the application of the United Cooperative Exchange #1 for <br /> .city <br />permission to use the/property located on First Street just <br /> <br />east of Sullivan Street, Santa Ana for garden purposes for <br />this year,, was denied for the reason that Otto McClure, <br /> <br /> <br />
