Hall, Fourth <br />and Porter Streets, was referred to the Police Commissioner <br />and Attorney and applicants requested to file a written <br />application. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the Mayor aud Clerk were authorized to sign an agreement <br />with Victor Brandalise covering the construction of an <br />electric sign at 408 S. Main Street, a portion of which sign <br />extends over and upon the five foot set-back line establishe, <br />on South Main Street. <br /> <br />Members of Townsend Clubs in Santa Ana appeared before the <br />City Council requesting the adoption of a Resolution endors <br />lng the Townsend Plan of 01d Age Plan. On motion Of Trustee <br />Bruns, seconded by Penn, a Resolution was introduced favor- <br />ing the Townsend Plan of 01d Age Pension and memorializing <br />the United States Congress to enact the same into law and <br />directing the City Clerk to forward copies of said Resolu- <br />tion to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Senators Hiram W. <br />Johnson and William Gibbs McAdoo and to the several Congress <br />men from the State of California and to both Houses of the <br />California State Legislature. The resolution was considers( <br />designated Resolution No. 2412 and passed by the following <br /> <br />vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, <br /> <br />Noes, <br /> <br />Trustees Joseph P. Smith, Fred C. Rowland, <br />W.H. Penn, Plummet W. Bruns, E.G. Warner. <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />Absent, Trustees None. <br /> <br />An Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "An 0rdinande providing for holding a General Municipal <br />Election in the City of~anta Ana, California, on the 8th <br />day of April, 1935, for the election of City 0ffieers in <br />said City, giving notice of said election; designating poll. <br />lng places, the hours during which the polls shall be opened <br />the officers to be elected, and appointing electio~ officers <br />to serve at said election." <br /> <br />was introduced, read, considered and referred back to the <br /> <br />City Attorney. <br /> <br />An Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance of the City of Santa Arm fixing the compen- <br /> sation of certain officers of said City." <br /> <br />was finally read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1006 <br /> <br /> <br />
