Santa Ana City H~ll. <br /> <br />April 1st, 19~8. ?:30 <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Warner. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees ~osePh P. smith, Fred C. Rowland, <br />W. H. Penn, Plummet W. Bruns, E. G. Warner. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees None, <br /> <br />Minutes of m~e$ing of MADsh 18th were approved as read. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Resignation <br /> <br />John W. Dunlap. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Appointment <br /> <br />Wayne Goble. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Imaak Walton League. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />P.E.0. Society. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Blocking System <br /> <br />of Police Dept. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Franchise Bond <br /> <br />Pacific Electric Railway. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the resignation of John "Sky" Dunlap as a special police <br />officer of the City, was accepted with regrets, to take <br />effect at once. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, <br />Wayne Goble, reporter of the Santa Ana Register, was appoin- <br />ted as a special police officer of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the a-pplication of the Izaak Walton League of America for <br />permission to erect a log cabin, approximately 40~x60', to <br />be used ss a club house for the Santa Ana Chapter, in the <br />perk area in Santiago Creek, was referred to a committee <br />composed of Chairman Walker of the Planning Commission, <br />Trustee Rowland and Bruns and the City Engin.eer. <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the request of Mrs. Earl Morrow representing the P.E.0. <br />Society, for permission to use the Bowers Memorial Museum <br />to hold its meeting~at a future date, was granted. <br /> <br />Chief of Police Howard appeared before the Council request- <br />ing permission to use the City Police cars outside the City <br />of .Santa Ane to cooperate in practice and in future emergen- <br />cies, in a block system of 0range County. On motion of Trus <br />tee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the Chief of Pol- <br />ice was given permission to use City Police Cars for maneu- <br />vers and emergencies in said block system. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and carried, <br />the request of the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Com- <br />pany for cance~llation of an unused franchise bond for the <br />Pacific Electric Railway. to cover construction and mainte- <br />nance of a transmission line on ~lain Street from Fourth <br />Street to the Southerly City Limits, was referred to the <br /> <br />City Attorney. <br /> <br /> <br />
