W. Campbell, Assistant City Treasurer, <br />was accepted to bebome effective when his successor is <br />appointed and qualifies. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the recommendation of the City Treasurer was approved and <br />Herbert P. Klotzly was appointed Assistant City Treasurer <br />when bond of $25,000.00 is filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the application of Dr. Robert S. Wade for the rezoning of <br />property located at the northeast corner of Bush and Eighth <br />Street for special uses to permit the construction of a <br />building to carry on the business of Physician and surgeon, <br />was referred to the Planning Coml.~ission. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the request of the City Hall Cornerstone Ceremony Committee <br />for permission to close N. Main Street between Second and <br />Fourth Streets, and Third Street between Sycamore and Bush <br />Streets, during the Cornerstone Ceremony and also to erect <br />a grand stand in front of the City Hall on Main Street, was <br />referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief with power to <br />act. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the request of the Santa Ana Communit~ Chest to start its <br />campaign the second week in October, was approved and <br />endorsed as a very worthwhile movement. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the communication from William Gallienne, Secretary of the <br />Fourth of July celebration at Huntington Beach, extending <br />thanks and appreciation to the Council for its part in the <br />celebration, was received and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />Carl W. Floud and Frank L. Allshouse were appointed special <br />police officers of the City of Santa Aha, without pay. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the application of the United Cooperative Exchange #1 <br />for permission to stage a benefit dance and show at the Ebell <br />Club, for the purpose of raising funds for members, was deni, <br />on recommendation of the committee appointed to investigate. <br /> <br /> <br />
