Leecing to construct a one-story medical build- <br />ing at 843 N. Broadway,was referred back to the Planning <br />Commission for recommendation. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of <br />Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the application <br />of Dr. Horace W. Leecing to construct a one-story medical <br />building at 843 N. Broadway, ;vas granted under special uses. <br /> <br />There being no written or oral protests, on motion of Trustee <br />Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of <br />Nellie I. Foote to erect an apartment house at 321 W. Tenth <br />Street, was referred back-to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of <br />Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application <br /> <br /> Foote to erect an apartment house at 321 W. <br /> <br /> was granted under special uses. <br /> <br />of Nellie I. <br /> <br />Tenth Street, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of <br /> <br /> Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the <br /> application of The American Brotherhood flor the Blind of 184 <br /> Oxford Street, Los Ar~eles, for permission to solicit funds <br /> through a flower sale in Santa ;,ua, was denied on recommenda- <br /> tion of the standing committee. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton, the following <br /> Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "An Ordinance in relation to and regulating the business <br /> of dealing in motor vehicles and providing penalties for <br /> the violation hereof" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1029 and <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. <br /> Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Noes, Trustees None. <br /> <br />Absent, Trustees None. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the <br />Mayor was authorized to appoint a committee of three, one of <br />whom to be the City Attorney, to meet with the Police and Fire <br />Departments relative to civil service for said departments. <br />Trustees Smith, Layton and the City Attorney were appointed <br />as the committee. <br /> <br /> <br />
