Lewis. to the City Auditor. ,, On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Stuns and carried, the communication of the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce endorsing the plan to develop South Flower Street as a by- pass highway through Santa Ana to Join Newport Boulevard at Paularino, was received, acknowledged and filed. . On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the communication from Charles Fallert, Manager District #14 of the National Reemployment Service, expressing appreciation for the assistance and cooperation given by the Police Depart ment, was received and referred to the Police Commissioner to acknowledge. # On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, the request of C. H. Eckles to change the bus route on ~he North Ross Street line, was referred to a committee for study and report back. Trustees Bruns, Layton, City Attorney and Police Chief were appointed as the committee. On mSion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of W. Ray Edwards to erect a ciraular steel sign to be illuminated by two 100 watt lamps, which extends over the sidewalk approximately eighteen inches at his service station, 2064 S. Main Street, was granted. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carrle~, the application of H. G. Nelson for appointment as a special police office in the City of Santa Ana, to serve without pay, was granted on recommendation of the Police Commissioner and Chief. . On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and'carried, the appl~ ations of Electrical Contractors to hang electric signs at the following places of business, were granted under the supervision of the Electrical Inspector: Wilson and Hill Brooks Clothing Co. C. V. Angle On motion of Trustee Smith, 228 N. Broadway 202 W. 4th Street 312 N. Brich Street. secoflded by Layton and carried, the E. Fourth Street, was referred to Chief with power to act. .
