Flower St. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the <br />monthly reports of the city officers for the month of March <br />were referred to the Finance Committee for checking. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, <br />the Clerk was instructed to <br /> <br />seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />draw warrants according ~o the <br /> <br /> demands audited by the Finance Committee, numbering from <br /> 2020 to 2236. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission to have the trolley <br />wire on North Main Street between Fourth Street and the North <br />City Limits removed, was referred to the City Engineer and <br />City Attorney for investigation and report back. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the <br />application of Robert Affleck for a permit to conduct a Used <br />Car Market at 315 E. First Street, was granted on recommenda- <br />tlon of the Planning Commission; the application having been <br />submitted before the adoption of Ordinance No. 1029. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of C. J. Kimball to conduct a wholesale com- <br />mercial poultry yard at 1135 W. Highland Street, was denied <br />on recommendation of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the Clerk was instructed to draw a warrant in the amount of <br />$125.00 in favor of the Rotary Club in payment of building <br />formerly used by the Boy Scouts in Jack Fisher Park. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the City Engineer, Attorney and Auditor were appointed as a <br />committee to confer with Dr. C.E. Price relative to drawing <br />up a new contract for the disposal of garbage, to be presented <br />to the Council at the next meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the <br />Chair was authorized to appoint a committee from the Council <br />to work with a committee from the Planning Commission and the <br />Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce to confer on the plan to devel- <br />op South Flower Street as a by-pass highway through Santa Ama <br />to Join Newport Boulevard at Paularlno. <br /> <br />The amendment of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton, that Trus- <br />tee Smith be appointed as Chairman of the committee from the <br />Council, was lost by majority vote. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the following portion of previous motion be stricken from the <br /> <br /> <br />
