On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission that a survey be made of broken sidewalks, high step-ups or step-downs of curbs at intersections, dangerous open end culvertS, etc., and that the necessarY repairs or reconstruction be ordered made, was referred to the Street Commissioner and Engineer. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the construction of a bandstand, comfort station and child's wading pool as recommended by the Planning Commission, was referred to the Forestry Board. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission that all metal light standards and fire hydrants be painted with aluminum paint; fire hydrants to have red caps, was referred to the Street and Fire Commissioners and the City Engineer. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission that the provi- sions in the Building Code, governing the height above side- walk grade of overhanging awnings, be rigidly enforced, WaS referred to the Building Inspector to investigate and report back at the next meeting. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton end carried, the Chair was authorized to appoint a committee to work with a committee from the Planning Commission as to the fe~ and practicability of extending West Fourth Street from Artesia Street along side the Pacific Electric right-of-way to an intersection with West Fifth Street, as recommended by the Planning Commission. Trustees Penn and Layton were appointed as the committee. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, Dr. Jas. Farrage was appointed a special police officer of the City of Santa Aaa to serve without pay. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the request of C. H. Eckles to change the bus route on the North Ross Street line, was granted on recommendation of the committee appointed to investigate. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, a Resolution was introduced resolving that the City Council of the City of Santa Aaa reaffirms its belief in the merits of the Townsend 01d Age Revolving Pension Plan, as an economi measure and declares its continued and unshaken faith in the
