Santa Ana City Hall. July 20th, 1936. 9:30 P.M. The City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruno, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees None. Each Trustee b_~_ving received a copy of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes of July 6th, 1936, was dispensed with on motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by B~uns and carried. # In Re Meeting--Or. Co. League of Municipalities. In Re Meeting--Or. Co. Coas t~ Association. In Re Application of 7th Day Adventist Church. In Re Application Signal 0il Co. In Re Library Report. In Re Application 0rland W.. Palmer. In Re Application Frank F. Ey, Jr. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the communication of the Orange County League of Municipali- ties relative to monthly meeting to be held Thursday, July 2Srd, 19S6, at Seal Beach, was received and filed and all officials urged to attend. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the communication of the Orange County Coast Association with reference to meeting to be held July 21st at the Golden Bear Cafe, Huntington Beach, was received and filed and as many officials who can attend to do so. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for per- mission to solicit funds for relief and uplift work in the total sum of $12§0.00 was granted. # On motion cf Trustee Penn, seconded by Br~ns and carried, the application of the Signal 0il Company for permission to widen driveway ten feet at 307 E. First Street, was referred to the Street Commissioner and City Engineer with power to. act. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the annual report of ~he Library Board for the year ending June 30th, 1936, was. referred to the Finance Committee. On motion of Trustee Layton, the application of 0rland W. seconded by Penn and carried, Palmer to have the property at 1622 W. First Street rezoned for business to permit him to conduct a produce stand at said address, was referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, application of Frank F. Ey, Jr. for permission to const~ct drive-ins to service station at the northeast corner of W. Fifth Street and Shelton Street, was referred to the City Engineer and Street Commissioner for investigation.
