Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />July 20th, 1936. 9:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruno, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Ey, Jr. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of the Orange County League of Municipali- <br />ties relative to monthly meeting to be held Thursday, July <br />2Srd, 19S6, at Seal Beach, was received and filed and all <br />officials urged to attend. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the communication of the Orange County Coast Association with <br />reference to meeting to be held July 21st at the Golden Bear <br />Cafe, Huntington Beach, was received and filed and as many <br />officials who can attend to do so. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for per- <br />mission to solicit funds for relief and uplift work in the <br />total sum of $12§0.00 was granted. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion cf Trustee Penn, seconded by Br~ns and carried, the <br />application of the Signal 0il Company for permission to widen <br />driveway ten feet at 307 E. First Street, was referred to the <br />Street Commissioner and City Engineer with power to. act. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> <br />the annual report of ~he Library Board for the year ending <br />June 30th, 1936, was. referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, <br />the application of 0rland W. <br /> <br />seconded by Penn and carried, <br />Palmer to have the property at <br /> <br />1622 W. First Street rezoned for business to permit him to <br />conduct a produce stand at said address, was referred to the <br />Planning Commission for recommendation. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />application of Frank F. Ey, Jr. for permission to const~ct <br />drive-ins to service station at the northeast corner of W. <br />Fifth Street and Shelton Street, was referred to the City <br />Engineer and Street Commissioner for investigation. <br /> <br /> <br />
