In Re Reso. No. 24?9 Accepting Deeds for Rt-of-way So. Main St. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the request of C. H. Eckles of the Santa Ana Bus Service to with- draw the North Ross Street bus route and start a new bus and place benches for bus patrons route in the east part of Santa Aha/ was referred to the Taxicab Commission for investigation and report back. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the applications of the Deco Advertising Company to install electric signs on private property of Frank D. ThQmas, 409 S Main Street and of Brown & Wagner, 116 W. 17th Street, were referred to the Electrical Inspector. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the applications of the powell Neon Sign Company for permits to hang electric signs for the Eureka Paint and Glass Company 209 N. Main Street and for Schilling's at ll2 E. Fourth Street, were granted if and when approved by the Electrical Inspector and to be hung under his supervision. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the petition of property owners on West First Street to have said street rezoned to business from Ross Street to Patton Street, was referred to a committee to investigate and report back. Trustees Layton, Bruns and Penn were appointed as the committee. Petitions protesting against and favoring the granting of a special use to Dr. John McAuleY to establish a doctor's offi, at 1319 N. Broadway, were presented. 0n motion of T~ustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was ~gcepted and the application of Dr. John McAuley to conduct his doctor's office aS 1319 N. Broadway, was denied. On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of Geo. E. Faires, representative of the General American Life Insurance Company, submitting a plan for group life insurance for City employees, was taken under advisement until a future' date. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by' Bruns and carried, a Resolution was introduced accepting the following dee~ to the City of Santa Aha of portions of right-of-way for widen- ing South Main Street: First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Santa Ana, a corporation, formerly the Southwest Building- Loan Association, a corporation. The Easterly 7 feet of Lot '3, in Block ,A#, of Tract No. 289, Country Club Gar- dens, as per Map thereof recorded in Book 14, page S of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, Calif.
