Council Chambers Santa Ana City Hall. November 2nd, !~3~. 7:30 P .~.~. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by M~yor Rowland. Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Absent: Trustees None. JOseph P. Smith, Fred C. Rowland. Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes of October 19th, 1936, was dispensed with and Minutes approved on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn an~ carried. In Re Application Alice deRiemer. In Re Electric Sign. In Re Electric Signs. In Re Application Taxicab Driver. In Re Application Sou.Callf.Ornamental Bench & Garden Supply Co. In tie Health Report. In Re Monthly Reports. On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of Mrs. Alice deRiemer for a license to shorthand and typewriting in her apartment at 415 W. First Street, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and ca~_.ried, the application of the Powell Neon Sign Company for a permit to hang an electric sign on private property of M.R. Kellogg at 410 Roe Drive, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the applications of Electrical Contractors for permits to hang electric signs for Krieger's Shoe Store at ll~ E. Fourt~ Street and Walker's Liquor Store at 503 N. ~%ain Street, were granted under supervision of the Electrical Inspector. On motion of Trustee BrunS, seconded by Smith and carried, the application of Arthur L. Johnson for a peNait to drive a taxicab for the Courtesy Cab Company as extra driver, was granted on recommendation of the Taxicab Commission. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the application of the Southern California Ornamental Bench and Garden Supply Company for an exclusive franchise to place and maintain two hundred or lees benches for the convenience of the public, at such locations as regulated by the Street Department for a period of two years, was referred to the Street Commissioner for study and report back. On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, the quarterly report of the Orange County Health Department for July, August and September, 1936, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the monthly reports of the various city officers for the month of October, 1936, were referred to Finance Committee.
