<br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried,
<br />
<br />a letter was ordered wPitten to Vic Rowland, President of
<br />Associated Students of the Junior College, advising h~ of
<br />the action taken by the Council establishing cross-walk at
<br />the College, requesting assistance by complying with the new
<br />regulation and to inform the students that it is a violation
<br />of the ~lotor Vehicle Code to cross the street other than in
<br />a pedestrian lane.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the
<br />request of the ~{exican Nerchant Association for permission to
<br />hold a social dance after their banquet on the night of
<br />November ?~2nd, in Gonzales Hall, was referred to the Police
<br />Commissioner and Chief of Police with power to act.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried,
<br />the following 0rdinsnce entitled:
<br />
<br /> "An Ordinance creating a Board of Forestry and the office
<br /> of City Forester of the City of Santa Ana: Regulating the
<br /> Planting, removal, maintenance and care of trees, plants
<br /> and shrubs on public streets and parks"
<br />
<br />was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for
<br />second reading.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried,
<br />the Resolution accepting deed executed by Jack Kern, Abe Kern
<br />Hattie K. Zeimer, Rita K. Lezinsky, Handel KuJawsky, David
<br />Ross and Carmilie Ross and dated April 10th, 19~6, was read,
<br />considered, designated Resolution No. 250~ and passed by the
<br />following vote:
