In Re Taxicab Drivers. be held TUesday, December 15th, at 6:30 P.M., in the Womans Club House at Costa Mesa, was received and filed. # On recommendation of the Chief of Police and on motion of Trustee Stuns, seconded by Penn and carried, Vetall F. Mayhugh was appointed a special police officer to serve with- out pay as a guard in the Federal Warehouse, 804 E. Fourth St # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of 0. A. Brown, representative of the Rich- field 0il Company, for a permit to construct a service sta- tion at the southeast corner of Fourth and McClay Streets, was referred to the Planning Commission. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of 0. A. Brown to construct a service station at the southeast corner of ~'ourth and McClay Streets, was laid over for two w~eks for further study. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layt~n and carried, the application of Bascom Rush for a permit to operate a Used Car Market at 1620 N. Main Street, was referred to the Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the property at 1620 N. Main Street was ordered posted for special uses and the hearing date set December 21st, 1936, in accordance with the application of Bascom Rush to conduct used car market. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the application of 0. A. Brown for permission to construct a thirty foot driveway at the service station located at the southeast corner of Sixth and Birch Streets, was referred to the Street Commissioner and Superintendent with power to act. On motion of Trustee the application of F. Smith, seconded by Stuns and carried, P. Nickey Jr., Scoutmaster for Rotary Troop #24 of the Boy Scouts, for permission to sell Christmas trees at the northeast corner of Third and Bush Streets and on vacant lot at the corner of Seventeenth and Main Streets, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief with power tO act. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the petition of citizens for the installation of a street ligh~ on the corner of Lyon and Palm Avenue, was referred to the Street Commissioner with power to act.
