In re Application Richfield 0il Co. ~j~Re Appointment Traffic Conn~lssion. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ana prohibiting cer- tain attempts to influence police officers in the performance of their duties" was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second reading. # On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana determining and declaring that weeds which bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature and attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry, and which are noxious and dangerous, are growing upon certain streets, sidewalks, and private property in said City of Santa Ana and are a public nuisance; directing the Street Superintendent to post noti- ces to destroy said weeds as required by law; fixing the tim for hearing objections and protests, and directing the abat, merit thereof in accordance with an Act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled, ~An Act authorizing palities to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks or upon private p~operty within Municipalities to be a public nuisance, creating a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks, or which such nuisance exists for the cost of abating the same, approved May 26, 191§~, and amendments thereto# was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 2§16 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Plummet W. B~uns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Noes, Trustees None. Absent' Trustees None. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the Mayor and Auditor as sponsor's agent and fiscal officer were authorized to sign application for W.P.A. Project to excavate various drainage ditches and Santiago Creek Channel. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was accepted and the property in the 1900 block Cypress Avenue and des- cribed as Lot ? Block A Tract 284 was ordered posted for special use and the hearing date set April 8th, 1937, in accordance with the application of the South Santa Ana Church of Christ to erect a church. On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the Richfield 0il Company were granted permission to cut thirty foot curbs at the service station located at the east corner of Fourth and McClay Streets, under the supervi- sion of the City Engineer. # On motion of T~ustee Layton, Elmer E. Heidt, V. L. Motry, seconded by Bruns and carried, Rev. 0. Scott ~'cFarland, Amos A. Hardy, ChaB. D. Swa~er, Frank Henderson and Plt,mmer W. B~uns Police Commissioner, were appointed members of the Traffic Commission.
