Council ~hambers <br /> <br />Santa A.ua City Hall. <br /> <br />May 2nd, 1938. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Stuns, Joseph P. SmitH, <br /> W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, <br />further reading of the Minutes of April 18th, 1938, <br />was dispensed with and the Minutes were approved on <br />motion of Trustee Stuns, seconded by Layton and carried. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Franchise Tax Commissioner. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br /> A.T. a Santa Fe Ry. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Peace Officers Assn. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Minutes of <br /> <br />Forestry Board. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />A~plioation <br /> <br />Mr. & Mrs.J.W. Barlow. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication from the Franchise Tax Commissioner <br />expressing appreciation for the cooperation given in the <br />matter of space and facilities for the convenience of tax- <br />payers for filing of current personal income tax returns, <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />0n motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Stuns and carried, <br />the communication of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe <br />Railway System expressing appreciation for the support givez <br />the applications of the Santa Fe Transportation Company for <br />permission to operate buses within the State of California, <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Br~lns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of Hunter Leach, President of the Peace <br />Officers Association,expressing appreciation for the assis- <br />tance and cooperation given in connection with the Barbecue <br />held April 20th, at Santiago Park, was received, <br />and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of T~ustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br />the Minutes of the Forestry Board for April 12~h and 26th, <br />1938, were received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, secondedby Penn and carried, <br />the application of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Barlow to conduct a <br />commercial poultry yard and keep more than twenty-five <br />rabbits on their lots located at 524-26 Virginia Street, <br />Was denied. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the City Attorney was authorized to take such action as may <br />be necessary to eliminate any nuisance, which may occur <br />from the keeping of rabbits by Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Barlow <br />at 52A-26 Virginia Street. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
