R. <br /> <br />seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br />Kellogg urging the reopening of <br /> <br /> Santa Ana Boulevard and replacement of bridge across the <br /> river, for the reason that the closing has effected his <br /> business, was referred to Trustees Layton and Bruns and <br /> City Engineer McBride as the committee previously appointed. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by B~uns and carried, <br /> the application of E. S. Sullivan for permission to conduct <br /> a forwarding agency at 510 Bush Street, to wire race horse <br /> commissions to all California tracks, was referred to the <br /> Council as a whole. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the application of Ernest L. Kellogg Post #16S0, Veterans of <br /> Foreign Wars, for permission to solicit funds through the <br /> sale of buddy poppies, on the streets of Santa Ana May 28th <br /> was granted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee B~uns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> the application of Gilbert F. Wagner of the Merchants Polic. <br /> & Protective Service for permission to extend his merchant <br /> Patrol service throughout the entire city, was referred to <br /> the ~hief of Police for recommendation. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Stuns and carried, <br /> the application of the General Neon Company to hang electri- <br /> cal signs for Mandic & Bteiner, Second and Sycamore Streets <br /> and for DeLuxe Cleaners, ~lA E. Fourth Street, was granted <br /> if and when the signs receive the approval of the Electrical <br /> Inspector. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the Resolution of the Garden Grove Sanitary District agree- <br /> ing to pay to Santa Ana their proportionate part of the cost <br /> of reconstruction of Section I of the Joint 0utfall Sewer <br /> as set forth in Project Proposal No. l§, W.P.A. S-94§9-0, <br /> was received, acknowledged and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to sign an agreement <br /> with C. E. Price for a term of one year, April 1st, 193S, <br /> to March 31st, 1939, covering garbage disposal at $22§.00 <br /> per month, with a clause to terminate agreement upon ninety <br /> days written notice to the lessee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the notices of claims filed for flood damages on property <br />~ the followingpersons: Martin and E1Xzabe~h <br /> <br /> <br />
