Drake. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication-LGreater <br /> <br />L.A.Rapid Transit Assn. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Applications <br /> <br />Taxicab Dr~vers. <br /> <br /> Ayes, <br /> <br /> Nos s, <br />Absent, <br /> <br />Pursuant to Resolution of Intention, the Chair asked if any <br />bids had been received for the sale of the following property <br /> <br /> Lot One (1) Block "B", Bessonet Tract. <br /> <br />The Clerk read'the only offer of Charles L. Davis to purchase <br />said real property in the sum of $600.00, and no person being <br />present desirous of raising this bid, upon motion of Trustee <br />Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the Resolution No.2639 <br />accepting said offer and authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to <br />execute deed to said property was passed and adopted by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br /> Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W.H.Penn, <br /> Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Trustees None. <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />An offer to purchase real property was read, from Urcell B. <br />Underwood in the sum of $850.00, described as follows: <br /> <br /> Lots 23 and 24, Block 19, Tract No. 352. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />a Resolution of Intention to sell above described real pro- <br />perty as of April l?th, 1939, was read, considered, designa- <br />ted Resolution No. 2640 and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Aves, Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W.H.Penn <br /> Ernest H. Le.yton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> T~ustees None. <br /> <br /> Noes, <br />Absent, <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the communication of T. Gray Johnston with reference to weed~ <br />on South Broadway, was referred to the City Engineer for <br />disposition. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Lay ton and carried, <br />the communication of F. D. Drake for a permit to remove tree~ <br />in the parking in front of his dwelling at 829 S. Patton <br />Street', which interfere with the sewer and walks, was referr <br />to the Forestry Board. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of George A. Heap, President of the Greats <br />Los Angeles Rapid Transit Association, Inc., urging support <br />of Assembly Bill No. 693 which provides for a rapid transit <br />district to permit the formation of a rapid transportation <br />system, was referred to the City Attorney for study and advis <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> <br />the applications of John Duke and ~arry B. Bear to drive taxi: <br />cabs for the White Cab Company, were granted on reoommendati(~ <br />of the Taxicab Commission. <br /> <br /> <br />
