Youel, office of Member of <br />Board of Education of said City of Santa Ana. <br /> following <br />That the/proposition voted upon was defeated: <br /> "Shall the compensation of the members of the City <br /> Council be increased to $75.00 per month for each <br /> of the members of the City Council?" <br /> <br />The resolution was considered, designated Resolution No. 2646 <br /> <br />and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> A~ves, <br /> <br /> Noes, <br />Absent, <br /> <br />Trustees Plummet W. B~'uns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. <br /> Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />A1 Honer with an expression of thanks for the cooperation <br />extended, presented the City Council with a large framed pic- <br />ture of the City Ha!l, with pictures of the CounciLmen ~d <br />builders,~ Ball and Honer, alongside, in dedication to Harry H <br />Ball, his former partner. The Mayor on behalf of the Council <br />accepted the picture with gratitude. <br /> <br />Trustee Layton was presented with an electric clock, a gift <br />presented by Wilbur Johnson, from the members of the Engineer <br />lng Department, Garage and Street Department. Mr. Layton <br />accepted the gift with sincere appreciation and thanks. <br /> <br />At this time, Mayor Rowland gave the oath of office to E. L. <br />Vegely as City Clerk of the City of Santa Aha. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution of Commendation to retirSng Officers of the <br /> City of Santa Aha" <br /> <br />expressing to the following named officials; William H. Penn <br />City Councilman, Ernest H. Layton, City Councilman, Hon. J.G <br />Mitchell, City Judge and Floyd W. Howard, Chief of Police, <br />who have served the City of Santa Ana faithfully and well <br />during the last four years, their felicitations and. be~t <br />wishes for success in any new undertaking and expressing <br />their regret that the associations and official relationship <br />heretofore maintained between such officials and the City <br />Council must of necessity be severed. The resolution was <br />read, considered, designated Resolution No. ~6~7 and passed <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees Plummer W. Bruns, Joseph P. ~$mith, <br /> Fred C.
