Rowland, having expired, they adjourned <br />sine die as a City Council of the City of Santa Ana, on motio~ <br />of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried. <br /> <br /> City~Cl~rk. <br /> <br />Council Chambers <br /> <br />Santa Aha City Hall. <br /> <br />April 17th, 1939. 10:30 P. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Election of Mayor. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Five Standing Committees. <br /> <br />This being the Monday after the 10th day of April, 1939, on <br /> <br />which day was held a general municipal election in the City <br /> <br />of Santa Ana and Fred C. Rowland, Joseph P. Smith, Plummet W. <br /> <br />Bruns, E. D. Yost and D. W. Kelsey having been duly declared <br /> <br />elected ss members of ~the City Council of the City of Santa <br /> <br />Ana for the ensuing term of four years, and having each <br /> <br />severally qualified by taking and subscribing to the oath of <br />office~ and being personally present, met as the City Council <br /> <br />and proceeded to organize <br />of the City of Santa Ans. <br />the Clerk. <br /> <br />and did organize the City Council <br /> <br /> The meeting was called to order by <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> <br />Trustee Fred. C. Rowland was nominated and elected Mayor of <br /> <br />the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />A plan was submitted by Mayor Rowland dividing the members <br /> <br />of the City Council in five standing committees as follows: <br /> <br />Public Health,which shall include <br /> City Water Department <br /> Sanitary Sewers <br /> Storm Water Control <br /> Health Deot. of City <br /> Garbage C~llection. <br /> <br />Public Safety,which shall include <br /> Police Dept. <br /> Fire Dept. <br /> Traffic Safety Commission. <br /> <br />~ublic Ways,which shall include <br /> Supt. of Streets <br /> Streets & Highways <br /> Parks & Playgrounds <br /> Forestry Dept. <br /> Track Removal Commission <br /> Trash Collection. <br /> <br />City Development, which shall include <br /> Planning Commission <br /> Building Dept. <br /> City Electrical Inspector <br /> City Plumbing Inspector <br /> City Building ~nspector. <br /> <br /> <br />
