Council Ohambers <br /> <br />Santa Aha City Hall. <br /> <br />Februal-y 6th, 1939. <br /> <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Absent: T~stees None. <br /> <br />The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and <br />each member of the City Council having received a <br />copy of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes <br />of January 16th,19S9, was dispensed with and the <br />Minutes approved on motion of ~rustee Layton, seconded <br />by Smith and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />S.A. Line. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the request of the Santa Aha Police Protective Assn., for <br />permission to conduct their annual St. Patricks Day Ball on <br />or about the 17th day of March, was referred to the Civil <br />Service Commission and Phil Brown for investigation and <br />report with recommendation at the next meeting of Council. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />O~motion of Trustee ,enn, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the application of Royal Lynn Snook for a permit to drive a <br />taxicab, was granted on recommendation of the Taxicab Com- <br />mission. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the application of the White Cab Company, listing owners as <br />Edgar T. Brown and William A. Crowell, to conduct a taxicab <br />service at 506 Bush Street, was referred to the Taxicab Com- <br />mission for investigation and report back their recommenda- <br />tion at the next meeting. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the application of Harry S. Pickard, Chairman, for permission <br />to sell tickets for the Eleventh Annual Military Ball to be <br />held February 20th at the Rendevous Ballroom, Balboa, was <br />granted. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the application of Ernest L. Friend, Pastor, to hold three <br />religious services on Saturday, February 2§th from 6:00 to <br />6:S0 P.M., at the southwest corner of %th and Bush Streets, <br />southeast corner of Fourth and Broadway and the southeast <br />corner of Fourth and Ross Streets, was referred to the Chief <br />of Police and Police Commissioner with power to act. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />~he communica~ion of ~he Chamber of Comme~ce relative to <br />hearing ~pril 8th at l0 A~M. in the ~allway Commission's <br /> <br />,J <br /> <br /> <br />
