Parking- W. <br /> <br />1st St. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Monthly Reports. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Warrants. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Eelsey, seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> the application of Wayland Grocery in the Grand Central Mar- <br /> ket to conduct a closing-out sale for one month beginning <br /> February 1st, 1940, was granted.and sale to be conducted <br /> under the supervision of the Department of Public Safety. <br /> <br /> an motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the application of Jack Fisher Chapter No. 23 for permission <br /> to sell tickets to their annual military ball to be held in <br /> Huntington Beach February 21st, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the request of the Chamber of Commerce for permission to <br />install signs advertising Dollar Day, to be mounted on poles <br />in the sockets on the sidewalks in front of the business <br />houses, was referred to the Department of Public Safety with <br />power to act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Eelsey and carried, <br />the communication of the Orange County Builders EEchange <br />with reference to the schedule of wages circulated by the <br />Building and Construction Trades CounCil Of Orange County and <br />proffering the services of the Exchange in making a survey of <br />wages currently paid, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the communication of the Orange County Contractors Associatio: <br />offering to make a survey of wages currently paid and a fac- <br />tual report thereof for ,theJCounc~l's consideration, was <br />received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the application of William E. Eckles for appointment as a <br />special police officer without pay to work at the DeMolay <br />dances, was granted and the appointment ordered. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the petition of property owners and occupants for a two-hour <br />parking zone on First Street between Birch snd Ross Streets, <br />was referred to the Department of Public Ways with power to <br />act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Ketsey and carried, <br />the monthly reports of city officers for the month of January <br />were referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the Clerk was~authoriZed to issue warrants according to the <br />demands 2udlted by the Finance Committee numbering from 2006 <br /> <br /> <br />
