Stuns <br />Noes, Trustees None <br />Absent, Trustees None <br /> <br /> on motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Hill and carried, <br /> the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> ',Ordinance Amending Zoning Ordinance <br /> of 1939" <br /> <br /> was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for <br /> second reading. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />0hie A. Sanders appeared before the Board extending his <br />thanks to his friends for attemding the open meeting in <br />connection with him dismissal from his Job as meter reader <br /> <br /> for the Water Department. A.M.Mapes stated that he wished <br /> to <br /> to point out that it is a long time/work fr~m, <br /> <br />1941, and he made a motion that he believed an open hearing <br />should be held in connection with the dismissal of Mt. Sanders <br />H.M.Hayward seconded Mr. Mapes' motion. No action was <br />taken by the Council. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Hill and carrie~, <br />an ordinance with reference to the am~ndment~of the dine and. <br />dance ordinance was held in abeyance until such time as some <br />person or persons appeared before the Council with a definitei <br />plan for the Council's consideration and the public to be <br />notified of the time and place for such consideration. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hill, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the Director of Public Safety and Auditor were authorized to <br />purchase an automobile for the Clerk's Department not to <br />exceed $V78.00 including trade-in. <br /> <br />Trustee Smith reported that he would have a full report on <br />the construction of the North Flower Street storm sewer, from <br />Santa Clara Avenue to Santiago Creek, at the next meeting <br />and declared that the city's decision to do the work itself <br />saved approximately $2400.00 to $2800.00. <br /> <br />Trustee Kelsey reported that the microphone had been removed ~ <br />from the sound truck operated by the Truck Drivers Local 692,1 <br />in strike situation at Otto Haan's Automobile Agency, a t 505 <br />South Main Street. <br /> <br />The Mayor submitted the name of Howard Straw as a member of <br /> <br />the Traffic Safety Commission, and on motion of Trustee Hill,! <br /> <br />seconded by Smith and carried, the ~pointment of Howard Stra? <br />was approved for the remainder of the term, March 15th, 1942.1 <br /> <br /> <br />
