<br />On;motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and
<br />carried, the notification of the State Board of Equal-
<br />ization of alcoholic beverage application made by
<br />Leoane F. Dornberger, dba Piccadilly Circus, 315 North
<br />Sycamore St., was received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and
<br />carried, the application of Carl Warren Hess to drive a
<br />bus for the Santa Aha Bus Co., was received, filed and
<br />permit granted.

<br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and

<br />carried, the request of John W. Sylvester, Coordinator,
<br />Santa Ana Civilian DeFense, for a week's vacation from
<br />
<br />October lSth to 25th inclusive, was received and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and
<br />carried, communication from Walt Kern, Jr. Chairman,
<br />War Bond Committee, Jr. Chamber Of Commerce, expressing
<br />sincere appreciation for use of the Municipal Bowl to
<br />stage the War BOnd Circus, wac received and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and

<br />carried, communication from President, Business and
<br />Professional Women's Club, extending an invitation to
<br />
<br />the Council to attend a meeting to be held at the Y.W.

<br />C.A. at 8 o'clock,/October 18th, presenting Mr. Loren

<br />Mead, as the guest speaker, was received and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and
<br />carried, communication from the Southern California
<br />Telephone Co. enclosing check in the amount of $7V62.24,
<br />being payment of two per cent of the gross receipts of
<br />the Company from October 13, 1942 to October 12, 1943,
<br />arising from the rights and privileges of the franchise
<br />granted by Ordinance No. 965, was received, and letter
<br />and check referred to the Auditor for checking and check
<br />to be deposited in the General Fund.

<br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and
<br />carried, resignation of Burnette L~ne from the position
<br />of motorcycle officer, effective October 18th, 1943, and
<br />communication from Chief of Police Boyd, with reference
<br />to this resignation, were received and filed.
