Co. <br /> <br />419 <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and <br />carried, the monthly report of the Police Department, <br />together with Juvenile Bureau Report, for the month of <br />October, 1943, was received and filed. <br /> <br /> Request of Hattie B. Wall, Vice Pres. Jr. Woman's Club, <br /> requesting permission to conduct a public dance Nov. <br /> 19th, 1943, at the I.O.O.F.Hall, 309~ No. Main St., <br /> w~s read and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by <br /> Cheney and carried, the request to conduct this public <br /> dance was granted provided the approval of the Fire <br /> Chief is obtained. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Trustee Deckert, seconded by <br />Cheney that the request of Rev. P. Ganuza~ of Our <br /> <br />Lady of Guadalupe Church to conduct a religious parade <br />in the neighborhood of the Church on Sund~y afternoon, <br />at 3 P.M., December 8th, 1943, setting forth the route <br />of the parade, was referred to the Chief of Police with <br /> <br />power to act. <br /> the motion <br />An amendment to / ~as made by Trustee Dixon, seconded <br /> <br />by Haan and carried, that permission be granted to hold <br />this religious parade with the approval of the Chief of <br /> <br />Police. The motion was voted upon and carried. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the Minutes of the Executive Board of the Joint <br />Outfall Sewer meeting held November 4th, 1943, were <br />received and filed. <br /> <br />The City Attorney desired to go on record stating that <br />he would not attend the Joint Outfall Sewer Board <br />Meetings unless employed by the Board and compensated <br />for his services. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br />carried, communications from Phil M. Brown, Secy. Civil <br />Service Commission, and opinions of the City Attorney <br />attached thereto, relative to status of Georgina <br />Anderson and Elizabeth Leland, emergency employees of <br />the Police Department, stating that they are uot entitle <br />to any different rating or the suggested salaries, and <br />stating that after twenty weeks sick leave of a Civil <br />Service employee no further compensation would be paid <br />while an employee is absent from duty, were received <br />and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, check of the Pacific Electric Railway Company, <br />in the amount of $487.40 covering franchise under <br /> <br /> <br />
