Pope requesting <br /> removal of acacia trees in parking in front of 529 So. <br /> Van Ness Ave., was referred to the Forestry Board and <br /> Trustee Yost. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Mandy and <br /> carried, the request of H.B.Riggan to lengthen his drive- <br /> way entering into his service station at 1921 East 1st <br /> St., was referred to the Dept. of Public Ways to report <br /> back. <br /> <br /> Trustee Bruns recommended that permission be granted to <br /> extend the driveway 18 ft. on East 1st St., and on <br /> motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Mandy and carried, <br /> the recommendation was concurred in, request granted and <br /> work ordered done under supervision of the City Engineer. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Mandy and <br /> carried, the report of the Police Department, for the <br /> month of February, was received and referred to the <br /> Council as a Comuittee of the Whole. <br /> <br /> , <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Mandy and <br /> carried, the bond of H.M.Neighbour, St. Supt., in the <br /> amount of $2,000.00, was returned to the Clerk with <br /> instructions to conm~unicate with the local Agent for the <br /> Hartford Accident & Indemnity Co., to correct the date <br /> of appointment and show H.M.Neighbour as an appointive <br /> official instead of as an elective official. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and <br />carried, the request of the Ernest L. Kellogg Post No. <br />1680 for permission to sell poppies May 28th and ~gth, <br />was granted; also permission to be granted the Disabled <br />War Veterans and the American Legion if they so request <br /> <br />it on the same dates. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, <br />the request of C.H.Eckles, <br /> <br />seconded by Mandy and carried, <br />of the Santa Ana Bus Service, <br /> <br />for a loading zone at the northwest corner of Fourth and <br />Broadway was referred to the Dept. of Public Ways and the <br /> <br />Dept. of Public Safety, with power to act. <br /> <br />The requests of Geo.G.Boyd, Chief of Police, that David <br />Joseph Bingham and Robert Leond Elliott be appointed as <br />emergency patrolmen were received and on motion of <br />Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Mandy and carried, the <br />requeste were granted and appointments approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
