Gas Co. & <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Mandy and <br />carried, the request of Santa Ana Chapter Order of De <br />Molay to hold their annual Civic Day on March 15th,1943~ <br />was granted and Mayor to proclaim March 15th as <br /> <br />De Molay Day. <br /> <br />The request of Harry Fink, Asst. Police Chief, for <br />leave of absence from March 15th to April 14th, 1943, <br />inclusive, was received and on motion of Trustee Kelsey, <br />seconded by Mandy and carried, leave of absence was <br />granted subject to approval of the Civil Service Comm- <br />ission and Chief of Police. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />The request of Geo. G. Boyd, Chief of Police, that <br />Bruce Johnston be appointed as an emergency patrolman <br />was received and on motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded <br />by Mandy and carried, the communication, together wi th <br />oath of office, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Bruns and <br />carried, application of Jack Phillips for permission to <br />conduct public dances at the Masonic Temple, every <br />Saturday night, beginnin~'~arch 6th, was received and <br />referred to the Department of P~blic Safety and Chlef <br />of Police, with power to act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, <br />carried, the request of the <br /> <br />seconded by Yost and <br /> <br />Foster Transportation Co. <br /> <br /> to use bus stop at the northwest corner of Third and <br /> <br />Bush Sts., which is already established, was granted. <br /> <br />Communication from W.G.Graupensperger, Sec. Board of <br />Trustees, Calvary Church, requesting permission to <br />inst~ll directional signs at the corners of 8th and Main <br />Sts. and 1st and French Sts., was received and on motio <br />of Trustee Yost, seconded by Bruns and carried, request <br />was referred to the Supt. of Streets, with power to act <br />according to policy adopted by the Council regarding <br />erection of such signs. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and <br />carried, the bond of H.M.Neighbour, in the amount of <br />$2,000.00, as Street Superintendent, was ordered <br />approved by the Chairman of the Board. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Mandy and <br />carried, communication from the Southern Counties Gas C, <br />and franchise check in the amount of $5,24B.?1 covering <br /> <br /> <br />
