Hanson, Clerk, Library Board, <br />stating that the,resignation of T.H.Glenn was accepted and <br />recommending the appointment of Lyle Mitchell to fill the <br />vacancy and recommending the reappointment of C.DoSwanner, <br />was received and on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by <br />Cheney and carried, the appointments were approved~n~ Clerk <br />instructed to write a letter of appreciation to Mr. Glenn for <br />his services while a member of the Board. <br /> <br />Communication from Mrs. F.E.Coulter, Curator, Bowers Memorial <br />Musetun extending an invitation to the Council to visit the <br />Museum on Thursday, May 20th, at 2 P.M., was read, and on <br />motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and carried, the <br />invitation was accepted and Clerk to advise Mrs. Coulter that <br /> <br />three members of the Council <br /> <br />Communication from Kenneth S. <br /> <br />would attend. <br /> <br />Knights, Chairman, Coordinating <br /> <br />Council Character Building Committee, was read requesting the <br />opportunity of discussing the possible creation of a City <br />Youth Activities Commission For the control of Juvenile <br />delinquen~yproblems with a ~epresentative of the City Council. <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the Mayor was ahthorized to appoint a member of the Council <br />to confer with the Committee of the Santa Ana Coordinating <br />Council. Trustee Deckert was appointed to represent the City. <br /> <br />Communication from Marcia Crane, President, Y.W.C.A. was read <br />with reference to the Juvenile delinquency problem in Santa <br />Ana and the Mayor directed the Clerk to advise Mrs. Crane <br />that Trustee Deckert has been appointed to represent the City <br />Council on the newly formed Coordinating Council, which has <br />been organized for the purpose of bringing under control the <br />Juvenile delinquency problem.. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, <br /> <br />the application of Carl Zuelow to drive a taxicab for the <br />Broadway Cab Co., was received and permit granted. <br /> <br />Communication from Geo. G. Boyd, Chief of Police, stating that <br />Sgt. J.L.Casey will replace Asst.Chief Harry Fink, who will be <br />appointed to the rank of Sergeant assigned to the juvenile <br />department; Detective Harry Prichard to be appointed Captain <br /> <br /> <br />
