Luxembourger, Chief of Fire <br /> <br />Department, requesting permanent appointmen~ of Captain <br /> <br />Moore and Auto-firemen, E.C.Heard and W.A. White, which <br /> <br />members have completed their probationary period, was <br /> <br />received and filed~ on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded b <br />Cheney and carried. <br /> <br />Petition of property owners and residents in the vicinity of <br />~000 So. Main and 2000 So. Sycamore St. protesting against <br />the storage of junk at 20~0-4~ So. Main St., was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, <br />petition was referred to the Attorney to ascertain the <br />validity of the Ordinance covering storage of Junk and to <br />cormmunlcate with the tenants notifying them to clean the <br />premises. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the report of the Police Dept. for the month of April, 1943, <br />was accepted and filed and referred to the Council as a whole <br />for further study. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, <br />the request of Geo. G. Boyd, Chief of Police reco~nending <br />the appointment of Dallas F. Reichsteln as a probationary <br />member of the Police Department to fill the vacancy created <br />by the resignation of Bruce A. Johnston, ~as approved. <br /> <br />The request of Geo. G. Boyd, Chief of Police, recommending <br />the appointment of Elizabeth Leland as an emergency police- <br />~oman, was read, and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded <br />by Cheney and carried, Elizabeth Leland was temporarily <br />appointed to take the place of Mrs. Bertha Anderson, who is <br />on vacation, and matter referred to the Chief of Police with <br />~nstructtons that such increase in personnel be included in <br />his Budget. <br /> <br />The request of Geo. G. Boyd, Chief of Police for $200.00, to <br />be used financing a trip to Sacramento to attend the Pacific <br />Coast International Association of Law Enforcement OffL~als <br />to be held June 1st and ~nd; also for Captain Chas. W.Wolfor, <br />and two others of the Detective Bureau to attend the State <br />Fingerprint Convention to be held in Los Angeles, was read. <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, <br />the request was granted with the provision that the expend- <br />iture is not to exceed $~00.00 and that an accounting of <br /> <br /> <br />
