<br />offered his resignation but the Board unanimously refused to
<br />accept it.

<br />commending the Council on the long time view of problems,
<br />possibilities and plans for the City of Santa Aha, was
<br />received and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />communication from Mrs. Everett Parks, Commissioner, Santa Aha
<br />Girl Scout Council, expressing thanks for the check in the
<br />amount of .~125.00, in payment of delivering circulars regard-
<br />ing trash collection to each house Jn Santa Ana, was received
<br />and filed.

<br />Communication from Bertha Wagner relative to unnecess9, ry
<br />horn-blowing and other disturbances at night in the rear of
<br />properties adjoining the Drive-In, known as "Lee's", located
<br />at 1711 North Main St., was referred, by the Mayor, to the
<br />Police Commissioner, for investigation.
<br />
<br />The application to solicit funds of Earle A. Rowell, Exec.Secy.
<br />Service Men's Bible Committee of American Bible Society, was
<br />read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and
<br />carried, application was referred to Business Men's Association
<br />for investigation and upon securing their approval of this
<br />solicitation, the Clerk was authorized to issue permit.

<br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried,
<br />the communication from the Metropolitan Water District with
<br />reference to payment of the Metropolitan Water District tax
<br />for the fiscal year 1945-1944, was received, filed and
<br />referred to the City Auditor for checking.

<br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />the report of L.H.Eckel, County Auditor, showing City of Santa
<br />Ana Estimated Valuations for years 194,5-1944, was received
<br />and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trl~stee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />the request of Harry 1. F~nk, for a leave of absence from the
<br />Police Department, in order to Join the armed forces, was
<br />granted.
