Burchfield was approved. <br /> <br />was read, and on motion of <br />carried, the appointment of <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney <br /> <br />and carrY, ed, the <br /> <br />monthly report of the <br />received and filed. <br /> <br />The protest of Frank F. <br /> <br />Pollce Department, for the month of July was <br /> <br />Ey, Jr. for excessive charge for destroying <br /> <br />weeds on Lots 4 and 8, Constantine Tract, in the amount of $14.40, was <br />read, and time having elapsed for protests, on motion of Trustee Decker' <br />seconded by Cheney and carried, the protest was referred to the Street <br />Super~utendent for checking. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, the ~yor <br />and Clerk were authorized to execute the lease between the City of <br />Santa Aha and the Pacific Electric Ry. Co. covering a private road <br />crossing over Pacific Electric Railway Company's Newport Beach Line <br />right-of-way at Engineer's Station 1905e85.$8, County of Orange, a t a <br />rental of ~5.00 per year, for the period September 1st, 1943 to <br />August 31st, 1944. <br /> <br />Communication from H.~.Ne~ghbdur, City Engineer, relative to survey and <br />preparation of plans and specifications for post-war construction <br />projects on County Highways within cities, and setting forth the follow- <br />ing streets, Delhi Road, West Edinger St, ~cFadden, east of Halladay, <br />Seventeenth St, Santa Clara, east of Lincoln, Sullivan St, Bristol St.~ <br />Standard Ave, Lyon Street and ~aybury St., to be included in the <br />program, was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, the matter <br />was referred back to the City Engineer with authorization to draw up <br />proper plans to be submitted to A.A. Beard, SGpt of Highways for Orange <br />Co~nty. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />Hugh J. Staton ~ppeared before the Council and reported on the improved <br />mechanical condition of the taxicabs operated by the Broadway Cab Co.~ <br />and promising to paint such cabs a solid yellow within two weeks time <br />and that they will cooperate with the Police Department and ab~de by <br />the rules and regulations as provided in the Taxicab Ordinance. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Clerk <br />was authorized to issue a permit to Staton Bros. to operate the Broadws <br />Cab Co., at ~05 North Broadway, upon payment of proper fee covering the <br /> <br />operation of ten taxicabs. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution Authorizing Contact Rental Agreement With <br /> <br /> <br />
