Larsh, Judge, for the month of Jan. J944, and Annual Report of the Police Dept. for the year ending December 31st, 1943, ~ere received and filed. On motion of Trustee Wean, seconded by Dixon and csrried, the Clerk was authorized to draw warrants according to demands as audited by the Finance Commttte~ n~nnbering 1337 to 1~o~4 inclusive. On motion of Trustee ~aan, seconded by Cheney and carried, application of A.J.McFadden that Tract 60~, consIsti~g of approximately 30 acres, be served with Metropolitan Wster for irrigation purposes and that the Council establish a rate to be charged for this water and authorize the connection necessary to fur~:[sh the same, w~s referred to the Water Supt. and Attorney to with instructions that report back at the next meeting,/Do reimbursement is to be msde to Mr. McFadden for the expense of the meter installation and on perpetual rights to be granted for the use of the water. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, and on recommendation of the Chief of Police, the request ne Frank Cane to conduct public dances on Saturday n~ghts, at the Woodmen's Hall, on E. 4th St., was granted. On motion of Trustee Cheney, secoDded by Haan and carried, the supplementary agreements to dispense with notices of renewals of lease No. 509 Eng-15~9 on the Military ~eservation, Air Corps Replacement Center, United States Army Air Corps and Lease No. W-809 Eng.- 1709 on the West Coast Air Force Training Center, were referred to the City Attorney to report back at th~ next meeting. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried the Auditor was f nstructed to make necessary arrangement for a certified census of the City of Santa Ana, which would cost approximately $3,000.00, such census to be secured by June 20th, 1944, for the purpose of securing an incresse of the in lieu tax from the State of California.
